In Nov. 2016, Impact Sac Collaborative Partners came together and developed the Employment Readiness Experience for teens and young adults in North Highlands, Foothill Farms, and Sacramento County. The goal of the program is to empower program participants to become independent and seen as assets in their home and community.

The collaborative agreed that by providing employment readiness opportunities, participants would be equipped with tools to close the employment gap in North Highlands, Foothill Farms, and Sacramento County.

  • Intake and Assessment

The intake and assessment is an online tool that we use to help us get to know the person applying for the experience. Impact Sac Collaborative Partners represent various fields with the capacity to support any concerns that may arise during intake or any of the mock interviews that come after.

  • Computer Skills

Through the collaborative effort, Liberty Towers provides one on one computer lessons and education in MAC and PC for clients needing to improve skills that will help them become employment ready. Our computer lab consists of multiple laptops and various programs from Word to Adobe and more.

  • Mock Interviews

Mock interviews (Life Coaching) are provided to participants who have completed the intake and assessment. Many of the Impact Sac Collaborative partners are leaders in their workplace with the ability to employ the people who are participating in the Employment Readiness Experience.

The collaborative partnership offers four mock interviews that progress towards employment. Often times, the mock interview will turn into referrals for focused services. During the mock interviews, collaborative partners interview participants with the goal of uncovering and addressing barriers that keep them from finding a job.

  • Life Coaching

Several of the Collaborative Partners provide long-term mentoring and or life coaching to people who are part of the Employment Readiness Experience. Life Coaches are just like athletic coaches expect the game is life!

  • Clothing Closet

During the intake and assessment process and/or the mock interviews, as the need for clothing and other essentials arise, we do our best to accommodate with what we have in our clothing closet. Through the collaborative effort, we collect clothing and shoes of all sizes for men, women, and children so that we can support entire families as a way to relieve stress that can be a barrier to being employment ready.

  • Internships and Job Placement

With the support of Liberty Towers Church, McDonalds, Callender Insurance Services, In the Mix Salon and Barber, along with other community organizations, the collaborative effort to provide internships and job placement is doing great work. Youth are developing skills in leadership, participatory action research, child care, food service, janitorial, computer and video technology.
