The classroom is just one place learning happens. Student Voices brings students, teachers, and leaders together to tackle the real issues young people face every day. Because the best solutions start with the young people living them.

Change the Pace with Elijah Dotson is all about empowerment. STRIVE ABOVE EXCELLENCE is the goal. As a pro football player, personal trainer, and inspirational speaker, Elijah brought that same standard to our community. He hosted training sessions, inspiring listening sessions with our youth, recorded podcasts and videos, in efforts to help us empower the youth and the community.
Change the Pace is Elijah's own platform; built to push people to do better by switching up old habits and creating new ones that actually serve you. He focuses on fitness and bettering mental health through activity, so when he heard about Logout and Lace Up 5K and our movement, he didn't hesitate to partner with us. He believes in getting active, being around people who pour into you, and choosing something that feeds your mental health over something that drains it, and so do we!
He may be off competing in the UFL Spring League right now, but he will be back to run the race with us. Follow his journey and check out Change the Pace University. With Elijah, we can learn what it means to change the pace..

This summer our youth are done staying silent. The Break the Silence campaign is a youth-led advocacy movement where young people speak up about the issues that have kept them quiet for too long; on camera and in their own words. Watch their stories, share their voices, and follow the movement as we build toward the Voices Against Violence Rally where every voice will be seen on our community poster.

The summer does not end quietly; it ends with a celebration. Right after the Logout & Lace Up 5K crosses the finish line, we rally. The Voices Against Violence Rally is our community's moment to come together, exhale, and honor everything we have built. Good energy, real connection, and a whole lot of love.

Lace up, log out, and show up for yourself. The Logout & Lace Up 5K is where mental health meets movement; a 3.1 mile commitment to your well-being that starts at the Capitol, stretches down to Southside Park, and loops right back where it all began. Cross the finish line and walk straight into the Voices Against Violence Rally celebration.
